The Golden Globe-winning comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine returns for a third season of hilarity and crime. After an impressive first season that chronicled one of the best new ensembles solving problems and forming unexpected relationships, the series is back to tackle bigger things. Will it be as great as the first season? Stay tuned every Wednesday for the recap on that week's episode to find out through interesting tidbits including the best jokes and what the crew is up to that week.
Crime of the Week: Pimento (Jason Mantzoukas) has his bachelor party ruined when he discovers that an old enemy is stalking him.
Peralta Problem: Peralta (Andy Samberg) must help Pimento have a good bachelor party, which immediately goes off the rails.
Subplot of the Week: With Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz) planning to marry Pimento, she decides to have a bachelorette party that is to be thrown by her three maids of honor.
Best Joke: Right as the bachelor party gets started, Peralta tries to keep things calm by having individual talks with everyone. It doesn't go too well and everyone still yells. However, Hitchcock (Dirk Blocker) and Scully (Joel McKinnon Miller) call Peralta aside only to reveal that they also wanted to be part of the group.
Culprit: The culprit's name is Figgis, who believes that Pimento is dead, but remains at large.
Resolution: Diaz's bachelorette party goes amazingly well with a lot of memorable moments involving paintball, quizzes, and wrecking buildings. Meanwhile, Pimento's bachelor party leads to him faking his death to appease Figgis, leaving Pimento to hide and hold off on the wedding. With the belief that they should be together, Peralta decides to get the group together to catch Figgis and get rid of him.
Verdict: Overall, it's a pretty straightforward and solid episode that sees both of the plots delve into great humorous moments. Most of all, it sets up an intriguing finale for this season in which the gang captures Figgis and lets Diaz and Pimento get married in peace. It's a fun episode with a lot of good jokes and the cast doing what they do best. I hope that the resolution to this story leads to some of the high points of the season. I like Jason Mantzoukas in the cast and would be sad to not see him in the line-up.
Rating: 4 out of 5
