Will this be the week that everything works out? Who cares. As long as they don't miss Sunday Funday, everything will be fine. So get your trash juice ready and prepare to do what normal people don't do as I review the plot and other major points from throughout the season. Hope you're ready. If not, too bad. We're doing this anyways.

“Oh, so that’s how you’re gonna play
it, is it? Like the two of you haven’t been sneaking
around in the wee hours like a goddamn Pinter play?”
It's the continuation of Jimmy (Chris Geere) wondering where Gretchen (Aya Cash) is going at night. Lindsay's (Kether Donohue) convinced that it's for a side bitch. Honey Nutz (Allen Maldonado) gets annoyed as he ratchets up the fake feud (which has become real again). Lindsay loses her connection to Paul (Allan McLeod) once and for all and becomes an independent woman. That is, until she realizes that she can't do it and steals her friends' husband's doctor pills. Edgar (Desmin Borges) pursues a woman he has a crush on and discovers that honesty works in her opening up to him. Jimmy follows Gretchen around and discovers that she has been secretly driving away to cry in her car.
WVP:
Side bitches
Is there anything worse than discovering that you're not the person that your significant other loves the most? It drives a lot of the episode, especially between Gretchen and Jimmy. Who is Gretchen seeing? What is she doing? Lindsay can escape Paul, but what is her next stop going to be? The mystery of the side bitch is explored at great length in this episode and reveals itself in one of the series' rare dark and sad moments. Still, the idea of loving someone else comes up prominently in this episode, and it's really hard to have any sympathy for the side bitch when you are the one who just wants someone to talk to.
Worst Moment
Lindsay has had a rough time. Even if she thinks that she is over Paul, she isn't quite ready to be the strong, confident woman that she thinks she is. As she stays at a friend's house, she decides to abuse her knowledge and steal some medicine in order to hallucinate and feel better. The results are a hallucination of Lindsay's deeper and sweeter thoughts about Paul. The only thing is that she's high on prescription medicine that likely will give her quite the headache in the morning, and costs a hefty bundle at the store.
Was This the Worst?
The series has taken an interesting, more mature turn that wasn't likely expected from the first episode. Considering that these characters have stolen vehicles and woken up drunk before, it's intriguing that Jimmy and Gretchen are finally having a certain reality break and must face the fact that they are ashamed to be vulnerable around each other. In an episode where a lot of the catharsis comes from women unveiling their true feelings, it's a strong episode that reflects why this show is so great. It's not only a study of being awful people, but of how trying to be a good person in a relationship can be hard and even damaging to your identity. I don't know if this show plans to make "The Worst" part of the title eventually nonexistent, but it does feel like this episode is heading in a pleasant and good direction. Though now the questions are on the table: why is Gretchen crying in the middle of nowhere? Who knows. Maybe that will be the new arc of the remaining episodes. Also, the fake feud between the rappers is still some of the series' best subplot moments this season.
