The following is a transcript I had with Nerdist host Chris Hardwick a few weeks ago after I watched the Talking Dead, a recap show for AMC's hit zombie show the Walking Dead. To say the least, I was wanting to hear him talk to guests Patton Oswalt and James Gunn more, which lead to some personal argument.
This is how the conversation went and how I came to respect him a little bit more. At least, I hope it's him, because this was one of those random highlights of the past month for me. The following is a real transcript that I had on Facebook.

Wow, Chris Hardwick is slightly more structured at a talk show, but not really. He keeps interrupting James Gunn and Patton Oswalt for dumb stuff. It isn't terrible, but I really just want to hear Gunn and Oswalt talk. Of course, this is essentially why I gave up on The Nerdist, even though they had interesting guests on, they just went nowhere sometimes.

Did it occur to you that the show is VERY structured and someone is taking in an ear piece to "move on to the next segment NOW"? It's a live show with NO time to linger because we have to hit everything on time. Why would that occur to you when you're too busy lodging ill-informed complaints? Sorry you don't understand how TV works.

i'm sorry that it came across as an insult. i guess my expectations were a little too different and being a gunn and oswalt fan, i wanted to hear them. i get that it's the first show and i shouldn't know what to expect. i was pretty irrational as a result of impatience. i suppose i don't know how tv works. i'd like to, as i am a writer trying to get some notice, but i have ways to go before i reach your level of success. i hope no hard feelings about the show and my comments on nerdist. it was good overall.

no hard feelings at all! i know you wouldn't have said anything if you didn't care about it. These live shows just take a ep or 2 to settle into the rhythm. We'll get it!
Thanks.
