Here's the Dates for Listmania Decades!

Scene from The Great Gatsby (2013)
The year is officially upon us, and there's a lot to look forward to. There's plenty of new entertainment that's days or months away from shaping the 2019 landscape. However, it's also a time to look back on the decade that was the 2010's. It was one of great change, leading to a rise in new trends or a shift in conversation. To pay tribute to the decade that was 2010 to 2019, I have decided to celebrate in the only way that I know how. Ladies and gentlemen, let's get ready for the special Listmania Decades, which will seek to look at the best of movies on a monthly basis. So, what will be covered over the next year? When will it happen? Read on to find out.

The goal of Listmania Decades is to pay tribute to all things film that was released in the past 10 years. I recognize that there's some error with celebrating the best of a year that hasn't happened yet, so please go in with that caveat. There will still be plans to celebrate 2019 on its own terms with the usual Listmania series. However, there's a lot to cover from the past nine years that will make up for it. This is by no means a complete list, but it's one that I hope gives you further appreciation for all things film and will hopefully get you to open up on your own opinions of the pop culture that defined the modern era.

The one thing that should be noted is that most of these categories will be published with some larger theme guiding it. For instance, March is dedicated to Films Written and/or Directed By Women because of it being National Women's History Month. Similarly, October will celebrate Horror, Sci-Fi, and Fantasy Movies in honor of Halloween. It's tough to narrow it down to 12 categories (and there's odds that there will be more surprise columns as the year continues), but this is what I feel like are categories worth paying tribute to. As of this moment, these 12 categories will be released on the 19th of each month in tribute to 2019.

I hope you enjoy this endeavor, which will end with a special series dedicated to my 25 favorite movies of the decade, as well as a highlight of other movies that just missed the cut. Anyways, here are the dates:

There will also be coverage solely for 2019 that will be announced in December. For now, look forward to Listmania Decade's ambitious plan to recognize everything great about film over the past decade as best as I can. It's going to be hard, but hopefully it will all work out.
