Update: Favorite Movies of 2010

September is almost over and every movie that wanted to be release this month has done so. How about we look at the past nine months and see what movies stood out to me. I may have seen a lot of bad movies, but there were plenty of great ones mixed in there, too (Inception, anyone?). A lot of thought provoking pieces that continued to challenge the medium and restore faith for the average goer.

Then again, this year is nowhere near as fulfilling as last year. But, to each his own, this year couldn't feature solid material front to back. No year has. it's just some hide it better than others.
So, what are my favorites? To properly state, I have decided to make a list of all the movies I've seen from best to worst.

01. Inception
02. Toy Story 3
03. Kick-Ass
04. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
05. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
06. The Runaways
07. Get Him to the Greek
08. I'm Still Here
09. Catfish
10. Machete
11. Shutter Island
12. The Girl who Played with Fire
13. Defendor
14. Iron Man 2
15. Cop Out
16. The Last Exorcism
17. The Other Guys
18. The A-Team
19. Youth in Revolt
20. Devil
21. The Losers
22. The Square
23. She's Out of My League
24. Shrek Forever After
25. Greenberg
26. Alice in Wonderland
27. Valentine's Day
28. A Nightmare on Elm Street
29. Piranha
30. The Last Airbender
31. Grown Ups
32. The Expendables
33. Sex and the City 2
34. Vampires Suck

This is not to say that some of the placement will change. However, it's doubtful it will be a drastic change.

The list will also probably expand in the upcoming months to include many currently released/coming soon attractions. I hardly have all the money to see everything I wanted to on the big screen (and forget 3D, not paying no surcharge). Here's a list of 40 films that may make an appearance (for reasons varying from great expectations to helpful ways to improve my Razzies status):

Dear John, The Wolfman, The Ghost Writer, A Prophet, The Bounty Hunter, Hot Tub Time Machine, How to Train Your Dragon, Date Night, Death at a Funeral, Exit Through the Gift Shop, Furry Vengeance, The Human Centipede (First Sequence), MacGruber, Jonah Hex, Cyrus, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Despicable Me, Salt, Dinner for Schmucks, Get Low, Never Let Me Go, Easy A, The Town, You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, Buried, Let Me In, The Social Network, It's Kind of a Funny Story, Jackass 3, Red, 127 Hours, Due Date, Megamind, Harry Potter and the Dreadfully Hollow: Part 1, Love and Other Drugs, Black Swan, Tron: Legacy, Little Fockers, Somewhere, True Grit

So yeah, doubt I will see all of these, but my more preferred choices are italicized.

See you all later. Got a show to prep for.
